A compact indoor-outdoor butterfly attraction at Genting Highlands with a live butterfly garden and a specimen museum. Toddler-friendly pace. Maintenance of specimens and enclosures is inconsistent.

Totally would recommend to visit in Genting! Super fun, you get to see the bees and lots of different butterflies. It was just beautiful but also note you will see a lot of dead ones on the floor. You can pay for entry at the entrance!

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for toddlers and children under 5 who delight in live butterflies flying freely around them — the scale and pace suit small children well. Older children and adults with an interest in entomology will find the specimen museum interesting.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Visit in the morning when more butterflies are active in the garden
The specimen museum section is separate from the garden — allow time for both
🎟️Children under 5 get the most from the free-flight garden area
🚗Wear closed shoes as the garden path can be uneven

Overview

Butterfly Wonderland sits at Genting Highlands and combines a live butterfly garden with a museum displaying pinned specimens. Young children at the 2–4 range respond well to the live butterflies and can explore at a slow pace. The specimen museum houses rare species. Maintenance is variable — dead butterflies accumulate on the garden floor between cleanings, and some animal enclosures draw welfare criticism. Staff are described as friendly and accommodating.
