Deer Park
π Tasik Perdana, Kuala Lumpur
A deer enclosure within the KL botanical gardens. Deer are kept in a small, muddy pen with minimal shade and sparse grass. The surrounding botanical garden itself is spacious and well-maintained.
We visited Deer Park in Kuala Lumpur today with the kids and were immediately struck by the gorgeous nature and the beautiful variety of trees and flowers surrounding the area. Itβs a peaceful and scenic spot, perfect for a stroll and enjoying the greenery. The children were especially excited to see and feed the deer, but unfortunately we couldnβt get as close to them as we had hoped (the access was limited for maintenance). While this was a little disappointing for them, it was still a nice opportunity to watch these gentle animals in a calm setting. Tip for families: Bring hats and water for the kids, as it can get quite hot and sunny, especially in the open areas. Overall, itβs a pleasant place to combine a short walk in nature with a glimpse of the deer, especially if youβre already exploring the nearby Perdana Botanical Garden.
π Family Action Verdict
Families who care about animal welfare should approach this venue with clear expectations β the deer enclosure conditions are a recurring concern across hundreds of reviews. The botanical garden itself is free-roaming, scenic, and suitable for all ages.

Overview
Deer Park sits inside the Taman Tasik Perdana botanical gardens, a genuinely beautiful green space in central KL. The deer enclosure is a separate, enclosed pen that reviewers consistently describe as cramped, muddy, and lacking adequate shade or grass cover. Multiple independent visitors report the animals appear unhealthy. The botanical garden surrounding it remains a worthwhile destination in its own right.
