An aerial obstacle and harness course venue in Johor Bahru. Day-pass format lets families come and go. Understaffing during peak periods creates long waits; children below 128 cm struggle to reach carabiner clips independently.

Strongly recommend the parents to participate with the kid instead of standing outside and shouting instructions. So lihai, ownself come in clear all the L1 to L3 in one day then say. At least show ur kids what you as the adult can do on the same playing field, supporting them! Go early. Anyway, seriously under staffed at top floor where there's a small gate that leads to an OPEN DROP AREA. There's a vid of this with a kid holding the gate open and not hooked up on the review. Kids, yknow! Someone could really get unalive. Top floor needs minimum 3 pax staff I'd reckon. 03Jan2025 I was there, only 2 up there the whole day incl the guy launching the ride from the tower. IIRC for the others seemed like: Trampoline and trapeze area 2 pax Slide zero, closed. Monkey 4 pax Slingshot closed for maintenance Tree climbing 1 pax. Due to the nature of the Monkey courses, occasionally traffic jams occur when some kid gets scared and can't continue or wet themselves... MYBFD. Even the top floor's practice area also can have traffic jam lol. Dun want traffic jam? Try the Level 3 run without cheating. Sibei song. Lol. Done in 80 mins with breaks on the perches, chatting with passerbys and being encouraged by kids all over the place from aisles, foodcourt, y'know everywhere lol Feeling accomplished for a middle aged person, in a children's indoor adventure park. But once is much plenty really!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with kids around 128 cm or taller who can clip and unclip carabiners with minimal help. Parents need to purchase full-priced admission to enter alongside their children β€” spectator access is not available at reduced cost. Weekday visits are strongly preferred for reasonable staffing levels.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Visit on weekdays β€” weekend and public holiday staffing is significantly reduced
⏰Children around 128 cm can manage carabiner clips independently; shorter kids will need constant adult help
🎟️Closed-toe shoes are required β€” no sandals or slip-ons allowed on course
πŸš—Parents who want to supervise on-course must purchase full participant admission

β€œOur kids age 11 and 9 enjoyed the entire session, it’s a day pass so you can come in and out anytime. The staff mentioned minimum 120cm to go for the level 2 obstacle station but I believe needs to be higher. My child is around 128cm and he needs to tiptoe a little bit to clip/unclip the carabiner at some stations. But all good, he enjoyed so much that he kept on going back. Go to level 4, try either the zip coaster to go down to level 2 and head towards the harness station, or try go down via a mini bungee to level 2. Once you reach the harness station, the staff will brief you or the kids how to use the carabiner. The staff is also not there to eye-power your kids so this place is better for kids to figure out on their own. Meaning, if he’s stuck, let him figure his way out. When my boy was stuck for quite sometime in the middle of level 2, the staff went to him. Parents, please don’t micro-manage the kids as it prevents the kid to overcome the stages. If you want to guide your child throughout the session, you should join your kid. Because when you command your kids as a spectator, my kid was confused at the same time. Great for upper primary school kids and secondary school kids to build confidence.”

β€œThe hardware setup was pretty good, but the place was seriously under staff when we visited during a public holiday. There was only 1 staff who had to attend to incoming players for wearing the safety harness, and to attend to all children’s call for assistance as they struggled to maneuver the safety harness around the challenges. We waited for almost 30 minutes before we could start playing. The other staff who was in charge of the ride (shown in photo) was not helpful at all, he simply ignored the crowd and when other people approached him for assistance , he was very rude to the visitors.”

Overview

ESCAPE Johor Bahru runs multi-level aerial obstacle courses secured by safety harnesses on a day-pass model. Children aged 9 and above who meet the height threshold get the most from the three levels of challenge. On public holidays and weekends, a single staff member has been observed managing both harness fitting and mid-course assistance simultaneously, causing 30-minute queues. Weekday visits significantly reduce wait times.
