This was my first experience rope climbing outside. I paid 160 rm for the 3 hours and I was pretty much alone for most of the session (on Monday morning). I got told over email that there are morning and evening sessions with a specific schedule. But on the spot they told me you can come any time... so who knows. Anyway, the guys were pretty friendly and they seemed to know their stuff. I'm scared of heights + trusting a new person that they "got you" was a lot for me, but eventually I started to enjoy it and did a few of the beginner routes. When a group of 3 girls came, I had to wait almost 30 minutes for another route to be prepared for top rope. But in the end I climbed 30 minutes past my time, so I guess I got my 3 hrs. There are bathrooms, water is provided, shoes/gear/chalk too. You can "store" your stuff at their place but it might be easier to just have it in the climbing area. The only "downside" is that it's at the opposite side of Batu Caves, so you have to travel more from the train station. I walked more than 30 minutes there and encountered 30 stray dogs on the way (always unsure if they're gonna be friendly or not). But all good. There's also some bus connection, if you don't want to walk or grab. PS: one of the stray dogs I encountered was the little puppy 😢

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for adventurous families with children aged 5 and up ready for their first outdoor climbing experience. The expert guiding team handles genuine beginners confidently. Transport planning is essential — the site is remote beyond Batu Caves and the walk from the station is long. Families with their own car have the easiest time.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

All gear including shoes, harness, and chalk is provided on-site

Great experience. I've climbed indoor walls but this was my first time outdoor. Not every route was available, but there was enough for our 3hrs and there was a variety of difficulty and heights. Our guide was Ijam and he was friendly and helpful. Staff were responsive on whatsapp to answer my questions before we came. Gear is included in the price. We grabbed a waffle afterwards on-site.

It was our first experience climbing on natural rock and we found it challenging and thrilling. Tyra and Weldy guilded us expertly and we felt safe and confident every step of the way. The next day we decided to go caving, and it was way more fun and exciting than we expected! Thank you for a wonderful experience, and finding Gua Damai Extreme Park made our weekend!

My 5-year-old had his first outdoor climbing experience here today, and it was amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thanks to their support, he was able to top some routes, which made him so happy. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! 🫶🏻
