Kompleks Renang UKM Bangi
📍 Bangi, Selangor
A large, clean public pool at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with over six lanes and depth ranging from 1.2m to 2.0m. Tiles surrounding the pool are extremely slippery when wet — one visitor required five stitches after a fall.
First time being here for the swimming class. You have to take off your shoes to be inside. Open for public, too, but need to pay. They have a shaded area, so less UV and sunrays, more skin friendly 😜 There is a kid pool, but I'm not sure if it is functioning or not. The shower rooms are well maintained. It has a prayer room in the same area.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Suitable for confident adult and teenage swimmers who will walk carefully and stay alert near the water. Children who run near pools pose a high slip-and-fall risk given the tile condition and the no-footwear policy. Always call ahead — the pool is sometimes closed to public access for training sessions with the website showing it as open.

“1st time here. The pool is big. Got more than 6 lanes i think. The depth is between 1.2m to 2.0m. Went for session 4 on weekdays, not crowded. Although it's rainy season in KL now as of November. But it's not raining here during the evening. Can pay with duitnow, cash or tng ewallet.”

Overview
Kompleks Renang UKM Bangi offers a genuinely large, clean pool with good lane capacity and multiple payment methods. The shaded structure reduces UV exposure and the facilities — changing rooms, showers, and prayer room — are maintained at a reasonable standard. The safety issue is serious: poolside tiles are extremely slippery when wet, footwear is not permitted past the entrance, and at least one visitor has required stitches after falling. No warning signs are posted.
