Lake Valley
📍 Cheras, Selangor
Lake Valley is a free, well-maintained lakeside park in Cheras with a 10–20 minute walking track, children's playground, outdoor gym, disc golf, and gazebos. No toilets on-site — visit in the morning or early evening.
It was a drizzly Sunday evening when my wife and I decided we still wanted to go for a brisk walk. We almost changed our minds because of the rain, but by the time we reached Lake Valley BTHO around 6pm, the drizzle had stopped. The timing worked out well. Parking was easy, with plenty of spaces available, and the area was not overly crowded. There were a few people jogging and walking around the lake, which created a relaxed and healthy atmosphere without feeling busy. What caught our attention almost immediately were the large fish in the lake. You can clearly see them from the edge, and some visitors were feeding them. In other sections, we spotted storks standing calmly nearby, and at one point we even noticed tortoises resurfacing in the water. It added a nice touch of nature to the walk and made it more interesting than a typical park circuit. The track around the lake has a mix of flat stretches, as well as some uphill and downhill sections. It gives a bit of variation, which is good if you want to increase your pace or add a slight challenge to your walk or jog. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Not overly fancy, but comfortable and satisfying for an evening exercise session. We left feeling refreshed and glad we did not let the drizzle stop us.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children of any age who enjoy relaxed outdoor time — walking, cycling, playground use, or simply sitting lakeside. Arrive before or from onward to avoid midday heat, particularly in open stretches where the young trees provide little shade. No toilets means visiting with toddlers requires pre-planning.

“A descent park, well equipped with jogging/walking path, children playground and outdoor gym equipment. Clean environment with a touch of serenity. There are gazebos for resting and picnic. A community friendly place. There are signboards advising visitors not to feed the birds as they can be harmful to health. All is good except there is no toilet. The park is mostly unshaded, and is hot in the afternoon. Free parking is available, but limited. Overall, it's a good place for exercise or family outing”
