Melaka Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary
📍 Ayer Keroh, Melaka
A fan-cooled covered sanctuary in Ayer Keroh housing butterflies, reptiles, birds, and other wildlife species. Interactive elements include bird feeding and scheduled staff-led shows with snake handling.
At first I was skeptical based only by the name of the place. But it turned out to be the most amazing decision ever. Went around 3.30pm & it was perfect because it’s not too hot. And there were many trees providing shade inside. I didn’t expect it but the place is large. Bought tickets at the counter, and there were no other people then. But I suggest buying in advance to avoid potential crowds. Not only there were many kind of animals, there were also scheduled shows by the staffs. I managed to hold a snake during one of the show. I was also amazed by the albino raccoon as it was the most cutest animal I’ve ever seen with its white fur & red eyes. The best part is when you enter the butterfly space. Felt like walking into a princess dreamland. There were tons of butterfly around you & you also get to release a “caged butterfly”. Such a nice touch added to the magical experience. There were also a swan lake, fish lake, birds, insects discovery, crocodile, rabbits, etc. You can also give food to emu as well as some of the birds. Overall it was a great place, worth the price 👍🏻
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 3 and above looking for an educational animal experience in a comfortable covered environment. The fan cooling makes it a reliable wet or hot weather option in the Ayer Keroh leisure corridor.

“Had a nice experience here overall. I was expecting to see more butterflies since it’s called a butterfly park, but there weren’t as many as I imagined. Still, it’s a pleasant place to visit, especially if you’re bringing kids. The environment is calm, educational, and great for a short family outing. It takes about 2 hours to tour the whole place, so it’s just nice for a relaxed visit.”

“This year we visited the butterfly and reptile park after many many years of not going. The last time we visit I was in primary school and now I am 40. We honestly had an amazing time. For RM 33 per pax, it was a great deal. Very well kept with many reptile and butterflies species. The staff were also knowledgable and friendly. Definetly a must visit.”

“I visited in the morning 10am Saturday and not so crowded. Butterflies were overwhelming. The bird feeding was good, they are gentle and do not peck or scratch your hands. The place is huge with other reptiles and animal as well.”
