The National Science Centre (Pusat Sains Negara) is a fantastic destination for a family outing. We spent about three hours exploring the wide variety of interactive science exhibits, and the kids absolutely loved it. It’s an excellent place for children to learn science through hands-on experiments, gain a better understanding of scientific concepts, and have fun at the same time. The entry fee is very affordable at only RM6 per adult and RM3 per child, offering great value for an educational experience of this quality. For meals, there is a convenient cafeteria on-site, along with food trucks nearby if you want more variety. This is a high-value educational attraction that I would highly recommend to families looking to combine learning and entertainment in one visit—especially for parents with young children or school-age kids.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Excellent for families with school-age children who engage with science and hands-on learning. Plan 2–3 hours and arrive on a weekday to avoid school groups and parking stress. Bring hand sanitiser — exhibit handles and interactive equipment have drawn hygiene complaints from multiple visitors.

A fantastic place for a family outing, we spent about 2 to 3 hours exploring the wide variety of interactive science exhibits and enjoying the fun outdoor playground, which the kids absolutely loved. For lunch, there is a convenient on-site cafeteria as well as food trucks nearby for more variety, but my biggest tip is to arrive before the lunch hour to secure parking, as it gets very crowded later in the day, though if the main lot is full, you can find free parking directly opposite the center just across the overpass. Overall, it’s a high-value educational spot that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun day out with the family!

Affordable, educational, and engaging for all ages Visited Pusat Sains Negara (National Science Centre) and was pleasantly surprised by how much there is to see and do, especially considering the very affordable entry fee of only RM6 per person. The centre offers a wide range of interactive science exhibits, from physics and chemistry demonstrations to technology, robotics, and space-themed displays. The live science shows were engaging and easy to understand, making complex concepts fun and accessible for children and adults alike. The atmosphere during demonstrations was lively, with good audience interaction. One of the highlights was the hands-on activity zones, including robotics and interactive installations, which encouraged curiosity and learning through play. The large indoor space is well-designed, making it suitable even on hot or rainy days. Exhibits like the tunnel walkthrough and themed halls were visually interesting and educational. Facilities were generally well maintained, and the environment felt safe and family-friendly. It is an excellent place for school trips, families with children, or anyone interested in science and technology. Overall, Pusat Sains Negara offers great value for money, combining education and entertainment in one place. Highly recommended for a meaningful, budget-friendly outing in Kuala Lumpur.

Heard that it reopened recently, so we chose to visit on the weekend. Didn’t expect such a huge crowd — even finding a parking spot was difficult. The entrance was packed with people, and there were many school buses parked outside. If you’re planning to come, it’s better to visit on weekdays. There’s an arc-shaped aquarium at the entrance where many visitors stop to take photos. Inside, there are various science experiment displays, which are quite suitable for kids to learn and explore. In the center, there’s a playground where children can burn off their energy. On the second floor, there’s a visual exhibition that requires an additional ticket and has a daily visitor limit, so it’s recommended to check that out first. There’s also a small butterfly park outside the stadium that you can visit before leaving.
