Penang Bird Park
π Perai, Penang
Penang Bird Park in Perai spans large tropical gardens with bird feeding sessions, interactive encounters with multiple species, and a new section added recently. Allow at least three hours.
LOVED IT THERE! So relaxing, very interactive, interesting, and just fun. We easily used a solid 3 hours there. Well worth it.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who respond strongly to animal interaction. The feeding sessions are the highlight β children can approach birds at close range across multiple species. Visit on a weekday morning for the quietest conditions and most access to feeding interactions. Bring mosquito repellent and water.

βI read some reviews and they were quite negative. The up keep could be better, but itβs not as run down as some reviewers make it out to be. My family and I had a good time and would recommend this place for kids. Many birds to see and some you can get up close and personal to. We were here on a weekday so it wasnβt that busy, we took our time taking pictures and feeding the birds. All the staff were very friendly to.β

βVisited on saturday morning. Ticket was quite pricey. Every drinks, ice cream and snacks sold inside was pricey. Quite disappointed with the condition. Most of the birds are not well maintained as some lost their feathers obviously, rabbits all sick with visible wounds on their bodies, dirty green ponds attracts mosquitos and we were asked to buy the mosquito repellent from the counter if would like. Price is Rm 18. Some of the birds are unique and the white macaw can actually say hi was quite impressive. Lots of empty cages and not happy birds. Sick animals. If they improve the park with some efforts, it will be a nice place to visit with kids and will worth the pricey tickets.β
