Segari Turtle Conservation and Information Centre
📍 Lumut, Perak
A free-entry conservation centre in Lumut where visitors can observe sea turtles from hatchlings to large adults in conservation ponds. Best visited as part of a wider Perak day trip — plan one to two hours maximum.
Segari Turtle Conservation Centre is a great place to experience the life cycle of turtles up close. Visitors can see turtles of various sizes, from tiny hatchlings to large adult turtles, swimming actively in the conservation ponds. It’s an especially enjoyable and educational visit for children. Another interesting highlight is the presence of monkeys freely roaming around the area, which adds a touch of excitement to the visit. Just beside the conservation centre, there is a long stretch of beautiful beach. However, it may not be suitable for swimming as it is an open sea with strong winds and waves. Overall, it’s a meaningful and enjoyable place to visit, especially for families and nature lovers who want to learn more about turtle conservation.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who are genuinely interested in marine wildlife and conservation education. The free entry removes any financial barrier, and the close viewing distance makes turtles tangible rather than distant.

“Worth all the drive here. Small place but they are doing whatever they can to conserve the Seaturtle. It’s just passed the hatching season, so next they will release the cute creatures into the sea.”

Overview
Segari Turtle Conservation Centre gives free, close-up access to sea turtles at multiple life stages — tiny hatchlings through to large adults swimming actively in ponds. The facility is well-maintained with good landscaping. Staff manage ongoing conservation work and can explain the turtle life cycle. Wild monkeys roam the surrounding area. The adjacent beach is accessible and swimming is discouraged due to strong currents.
