📍 Kota Southkey, Johor
VR+Zone at Kota Southkey runs VR escape rooms and first-person shooting games with clean headsets and patient staff who guide first-timers through game selection and controls.
my friends and I went on a Saturday afternoon and were glad they we could still play the VR Escape Room (despite not having made any prior reservations - tbh not sure if they have such an option) ☺️ the guy staff at the counter very patiently explain to us the different games and which would best cater to our group size, our prior experience in VR escape rooms (we played quite a few in SG before), and also our preference for non-horror so kudos to the staff ☺️☺️ frankly speaking I was a little worried about the hygiene and cleanliness but it is actually nothing to worry about, devices are clean and they also give you a sheet to put over your face before you wear the devices. overall, my friends and I really enjoyed our time there and we really are very grateful that the staff extended our time by 6/7 mins just to let us complete and escape the game (of course with him helping us at the side as well) 🫶🏻 because here in SG… our experience is if you can’t finish in 1 hour, they offer you extensions of 30 mins but at a premium price 🤡 so yes we’re very thankful for the great service by the staff here and we’ll definitely be back and highly recommend to everybody!!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with teens and older children who are curious about VR gaming and want guided, well-maintained experiences. Staff attentiveness makes it welcoming for first-timers. Groups wanting full team immersion should that adjacent game noise carries between rooms — a genuine limitation for competitive or story-driven sessions.

“I initially came here to play some games with my family but noticed that they had Beat Saber available. I decided to try it out, hoping to experience playing Beat Saber in public. The staff observed me playing and recommended that I try the 'Cage’ (where custom songs are available) when it is not in use. This significantly enhanced my experience! The staff is very accommodating, and the VR setups are in excellent condition. I highly recommend it! Update: Visited this place again a month later and had lots of fun! Too bad the holidays are over, but I will come again! Unfinished business with AOT OP2 (Beat Saber) >:(”

“Came here for a team bonding session, place is very family friendly. The rooms are limited so sometimes you have to wait around the seats outside. The quality of the games is alright but it can be better. We got 4 games and it was too tired to play in one go so we took a break after 2 games. The Jurassic one is fun and can play for quite long, the zombies one at metro and prison are quite short.”

“Some VR first person shooting game. Paid Rm80 for 2 pax for a single game. Entire session lasted maybe about 10-15 mins. You wear the VR googles and a game rifle. Staff will brief you with instructions. You are basically stationary but can turn 360 degrees. The theme that we chose wasn’t easy. Totally swarmed with monsters lol. Great place to kill time and have fun though.”
