Adventure resort combining cave exploration and rock climbing against Ipoh's limestone backdrop. Daytime activities are the draw; overnight stays vary in room quality.

We just loved our style close to nature and wilderness the rooms were neat and clean, aircon works well.bathrooms were good and neat.staff housekeeping promptly fulfill the request.very patient in answering our questions. The owner was very friendly he was kind enough to help us drop us back to KTM. Only a bit struggle was getting a grab/cab getting a 6 seater was a challenge. This time we came by train from kl but felt having a car was very much essential. If u want to rent a car pls book 2 days before u arrive to ipoh. Other than that the location itself no complains at all.lot of adventure activities.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for adventurous families with school-age and older children who want a genuine karst cave experience. Request Mr Wan as your cave guide β€” reviewers single him out consistently. Families expecting resort-standard accommodation will be disappointed; the value is entirely in the outdoor activity programme, not the rooms.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Arrange your own transport β€” Grab availability is unreliable in this area
⏰Request Mr Wan specifically when booking cave exploration
🎟️Pack a small backpack with dry clothes; caves and outdoor areas can be wet
πŸš—Bring a portable fan or air freshener for rooms during humid periods

β€œThe location is absolutely beautiful, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere β€” ideal for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The food was decent, nothing extraordinary but satisfactory. However, I was quite disappointed with the room. There was no television, and upon inquiry, the staff informed me that the TV was broken. They offered a room change for an additional fee, which I felt was unreasonable. As a result, there were no in-room entertainment options during the night, and we had to go into town to keep ourselves occupied. Additionally, the bedside lamp was not functioning, leaving us to rely on the bathroom light for visibility at night β€” otherwise, the room would be completely dark. The bed also had an unpleasant sour odor, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. Overall, while the surroundings were lovely, the condition of the room and lack of basic amenities took away from the overall experience.”

Overview

Xscape Tambun sits within Ipoh's limestone karst landscape, offering cave exploration led by guides who know the 6th Mile Cave system intimately. Rock climbing routes use the natural rock face. Rooms are functional rather than luxurious β€” humidity affects some units and the resort can get noisy with large groups. Families who focus on the outdoor programme rather than the room will leave satisfied.
