A small farm sanctuary in Gopeng where children feed alpacas, Angora goats, and other animals without barriers. A flying fox is available with age restrictions. Best visited in the morning or late afternoon.

The place is really nice, and you can even feed the animals. Animal food is sold separately and costs only RM1. You can also try the zip line, but thereโ€™s an age limit for it. The zip line fee is separate from the entrance fee. All these videos were taken in April. Since then, theyโ€™ve added a new area and also sell merchandise. The prices are very reasonable and wonโ€™t hurt your pocket. Overall, itโ€™s a really nice experience. There are a few other areas I havenโ€™t shared here due to personal privacy. I definitely recommend visitingโ€”especially for the alpaca!

๐Ÿ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 2โ€“10 who light up around animals and tactile experiences. The barrier-free contact with alpacas and goats is genuinely special for young children. Morning or late afternoon visits are non-negotiable in warm months โ€” midday sun on open ground is intense and the animals retreat to shade.

โ„น๏ธ What to Know Before You Go

๐Ÿ’กVisit in the morning or late afternoon โ€” midday heat on open ground is uncomfortable for children and animals alike
โฐBring umbrellas or hats โ€” shade is sparse outside the alpaca shelter area
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธAnimal feed is purchased separately on-site in small portions โ€” budget a few rounds for kids who want repeated interactions
๐Ÿš—Check age and weight requirements for the flying fox before promising it to children

โ€œZahara Garden is truly one of a kind. The highlight for me was the Alpacas from Australia, which are very tame and adorable. The Angora Goats are also fascinating with their soft and beautiful fur. The staff are friendly, always smiling, and willing to share knowledge about the animals. Adding a snack or convenience shop besides the cafรฉ would make the experience even more complete.โ€

โ€œZahara Garden is a great place for parent & kids to enjoy! It has a very nice, relaxing environment. My children loved the mini pet area where they could get up close to touch and feed the animals. Itโ€™s a wonderful spot for a family outing. Highly recommended for those with young children!โ€

Overview

Zahara Garden in Gopeng puts children directly alongside Australian alpacas and Angora goats in a barrier-free setting โ€” no fences between kids and animals. Staff are knowledgeable and willing to share information about each species. Animal feed is available on-site separately. A flying fox provides additional excitement for eligible children. The garden has sparse shade; midday temperatures make the open areas uncomfortable. Shade is available near the alpaca shelter.
