A large open park in Bandar Utama with wide grassy areas, a lake, and jogging paths. Dog-friendly with off-leash areas. Free entry. Maintenance is inconsistent — bins and lake upkeep lag behind visitor numbers.

Central Park in Bandar Utama is one of my favorite green spaces in PJ. I’ve visited quite a few parks around the area, but this one stands out because it’s well-maintained and has a good balance of nature and convenience. The park itself is spacious with wide, open grassy areas, making it perfect for families with kids to run around, or even for casual picnics. There’s a nice jogging and walking track that loops around the lake, and I really enjoy coming here in the mornings when the air is still fresh. The lake is a central feature and adds a calming feel to the park — it’s lovely to walk by and see people feeding the fish and turtles or just relaxing on the benches nearby. What I like most is the dog-friendly vibe. It’s one of the few parks in PJ where you regularly see people bringing their pets out for walks, and that makes the atmosphere livelier. The community here is friendly, and you often see families, joggers, cyclists, and pet owners sharing the space respectfully. There are plenty of shaded spots with trees, so even during late mornings, it’s not unbearably hot. The landscaping is also quite nice, with flowers and greenery that make the park look neat and welcoming. At the same time, it doesn’t feel overbuilt — it still has that natural, relaxing charm. Parking is convenient, especially if you’re coming from the nearby BU area or 1 Utama. After a walk or jog, it’s easy to grab a coffee or meal nearby since there are plenty of eateries within a short distance. Overall, Central Park is a gem in Bandar Utama — peaceful, clean, and great for exercise, family time, or just unwinding after a long day. It’s become part of my weekend routine, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice urban park in PJ.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with older children and active parents who want open-air exercise space rather than a structured play destination. The dog-friendly environment is a strong draw for pet-owning families. Families with toddlers should of the volume of off-leash dogs on weekends. Morning weekday visits are the quietest and freshest.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Arrive early on weekdays for cleaner facilities and available parking
Bring your own water and snacks as there are no food stalls on-site
🎟️The off-leash dog area is active on weekends — supervise toddlers closely near it
🚗A second set of clothes for children is useful after muddy grass play

A huge park for dogs to run off leash. There can be quite a lot of dog owners visiting on the weekend. One safety concern is that there's a lot of foreigners sleeping around the booth...

Dry weather has caused the lake to dry up. The park is popular with dogs.Morning are busy with people for their exercises. Some parking lots available. Come early to get your parking.

Spacious park that’s dog-friendly with an enclosure for furry friends to run off leash. Rather disappointed the maintenance falls short as there is not a single garbage disposal bins in sight. Apparently the park is scheduled for upgrading - something it badly needs as evidenced by the overgrown grass, uneven footpaths and decrepit rest shelters.

Overview

Central Park Bandar Utama provides wide-open grassy space for children to run, cycle, and play in a green suburban setting. The park is dog-friendly with a dedicated off-leash enclosure that draws significant weekend foot traffic. A lake and tree-lined jogging track add to the natural appeal. Maintenance is variable — rubbish bins are sometimes overflowing and the lake water quality suffers during dry spells. Early weekday mornings offer the best combination of space and cleanliness.
