A budget-friendly mini zoo in Kulim with birds, alpacas, capybaras, donkeys, raccoons, and pythons across a compact site. Hungry birds fly directly onto visitors inside the feeding cages.

Brought my family here to let the kids enjoy the birds and animals which was wonderful. There are ample parking space outside the park and the entry ticket is reasonable. For Malaysians, the ticket prices are RM12/adult, RM8/child or senior citizen, and free for children under 90cm. Foreigners are more expensive (RM20/adult, RM16/child or seniors). Service was great and the staffs were all smiles. There is a small food court outside the park to get some food and beverages. Keep in mind that no food and drinks are sold inside the park but you are allowed to leave the park for a quick drink or toilet break before entering it again once you have paid for your ticket. The overall park size may not be very big but there are a lot of feeding areas ranging from birds to deers. The park is cleaner than expected which shows the staff really putting effort into maintaining it (example: changing of water at the tortoises’ enclosure). It is nice to stand on the bridge and watch the tortoises and fishes swimming around but we enjoyed the bird feeding and photo taking the most. It is not just birds here, you can see other animals like squirrels, skunk, porcupines, alpaca, and more. It could take you 1-2 hours to fully explore everything especially when your kids are enjoying themselves. However, I want to point out one big mistake at the bird feeding cage that the staffs should seriously enforce. There are 2 doors leading to the bird feeding enclosure where we should close the first door before opening the second one to prevent birds from escaping. The issue here is most visitors were blatantly opening both doors when entering or exiting the enclosure which meant some birds could fly out of the place. Such customers are inconsiderate and I believe a notice should be shown to warn people about such behaviour where you will get a fine if you do this. All things considered, I recommend families to give this park a visit at least once in their life. It is a welcoming sight to have a bird park like this in Kulim even though it may not be world class standard.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children under 8 who want close-up animal contact at an affordable entry price. Children under 90cm enter free. The bird feeding experience is hands-on and exciting for young kids. Visit in the morning to beat both the heat and school group crowds.

β€œDespite the size, there is a lot of animals inside. The ticket is quite cheap, and the food for the animals is cheap as well. If the birds happen to be hungry, they will fly to you as soon as you step inside the cage, hence the awesome pictures with the bird on my shoulder and hand. It can be very hot though, and there are schools outside the park so it can be very jam if you happen to be there at the "wrong time"”

β€œThe place is not too big, don't expect many animals. It's more about pets, but there are also donkeys, horses, alpacas, pythons, raccoons and capybaras. The atmosphere is rustic, there are small stalls selling food products that are not expensive. This place is very suitable for children. I like this place”

Overview

Kulim Bird Park fits a surprisingly wide range of animals into a small footprint β€” birds, alpacas, capybaras, donkeys, horses, raccoons, and pythons among them. The bird feeding cages are the standout: hungry birds land on hands and shoulders, creating close-up photo moments that young children respond to strongly. The compact size means a full visit runs one to two hours. Heat builds quickly at midday, especially in open sections.
