Straits Green Park By The Sea
📍 Tanjung Tokong, Penang
Clean waterfront park with jogging and cycling track, captain ball, futsal, sepak takraw, and a playground. Young trees mean sparse shade — early morning visits are most comfortable. Toddler-friendly open grassy areas.
Soft and fresh sea breeze…. Good vibes! Love the green field. There are no big shady trees around for shades unfortunately 😅 (being a new park) Could just sit there and enjoy the morning sun, sea breeze and clouds above Great place for picnic, recreation in the morning. Family-friendly recreational site.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for active families who want a free outdoor outing with sea views and room to run. Toddlers enjoy the open grass; older kids use the courts. Arrive early — by mid-morning the exposed seafront gets warm. Weekend mornings draw a lively crowd of joggers and cyclists, so the wide path keeps everyone comfortable.

“A tiny park, but full of facilities (eg. Captain ball, football/futsal, sepak takraw, playground) It also link to a scenic track for jogging, cycling and strolling etc. Good to come early 6am++ before the Sun is high up, as it is facing the sunrise direction. Do remember to emjoy the view along the trail”

“A paved walk along the seafront from the Straits Quay Marina upto nearly Tanjung Tokong Beach. Visited on a Sunday late afternoon and a lot of joggers, children, electric steps, a few bikes and a lot of dog owners. But the pavement is wide enough to give everyone some space. One side of the pavement are the high rise buildings, the other side along the sea is a strip of grass dotted with a few 'islands' of palmtrees, which seem to be good for picnic or even put up your hamock :). We had a cloudy day, but guess with sunshine, there is little cover for the sun. Closed during the night and a bunch of 'not allowed'.”

Overview
Straits Green Park sits along the Tanjung Tokong seafront with genuine sea views and the sound of waves. The paved track links to Straits Quay Marina and draws joggers, cyclists, and families on weekends. Sports facilities include captain ball, futsal, and sepak takraw courts alongside a playground. Trees are young and shade is sparse — plan your arrival for early morning to get the most out of it.
