Went here on weekend and there are not many people during my visit. This place is easy to access just 5 minutes walk from MRT Bukit Bintang. The entrance fee is RM 20 for general admission and RM 10 for student. The gallery is nice, clean and aesthetic. There are a lot of painting available. All the painting are creative and nice. The condition of the gallery is also nice and comfortable. Toilet available on each levels. There are 5 level of gallery where you can access all the gallery by lift and stair. There are rooftop view available and the view is magnificent. Suitable to come whether you love art or not and perhaps one of the good spot to go for a date. Can bring family, friends too. Enjoying my time here. Ticket can be purchased online or via walk in.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with school-aged children who can engage with curated art and read exhibit notes. Quiet enough for focused exploration. Toddlers will find little to interact with. Weekday afternoons draw very few visitors, making it a calm cultural outing for older kids and teens who enjoy themed storytelling across floors.

As a solo visitor I spent 1-2 hours here which I wasn't expecting! Many reviewers had said it is small but actually it spans up five floors and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and number of works on display, and reading material. Each floor has a theme. All pieces carefully selected, you can tell a lot of thought has been put into the positioning of art and curation of the space. I enjoyed the available books for browsing and the city views from each floor. Compared to the national gallery expect a more quiet and intimate experience. I came around 1pm on a Tuesday and there were no other visitors. Accessibility: seating on all floors, lift for step-free access, toilets on each floor, some gentle lofi music playing throughout.

I had a wonderful experience at this tiny gallery of 5 floors, each featuring a different theme. First floor was on people, 2nd was power play, 3rd super heroes, 4th was about architecture and 5th a sculpture lounge wedged between two outdoor gardens, one flowering profusely with orange blossoms overlooking the city, a very relaxed and cosy area, my favourite. And the best art piece for me was the photographic work Feast 2013 by Win Shya depicting youth and beauty, the first piece that greets you when you walk into the art space. It was just mesmerising.

I have visited all three Ur Mu museums in Kuala Lumpur and recommend them all heartily! The entrances are not always easy to spot but once in, you’ll be astounded by the diversity and quality of the contents. You’ll learn about local history, politics and art. Look out for the piece called Nutcracker at n Ur Mu and enjoy the sculptures at Ur Mu Bintang. They are also oases of peace and quiet in busy and noisy KL. The staff leaves you alone but is capable of talking about the art intelligently. I’d happily visit all three Ur Mus again!
