1 / 3Planetarium Negara
π Tasik Perdana, Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia's national planetarium offers free entry with space and science exhibits, planetarium shows, a gravity room, and an AI photo booth. Many interactive exhibits are broken or under maintenance. Parking is free and requires an uphill walk.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Planetarium. While much of the information presented can be found online, there is something uniquely engaging about learning in a space specifically designed to inspire curiosity and discovery. The highlights of my visit were the Gravity Room and the Interactive String Theory Wall, both of which offered hands-on and immersive learning experiences. Admission to the Planetarium is free, although visitors can choose to pay a small fee for the Planetarium show and selected attractions, which are well worth considering. The facility is generally well maintained. However, a few interactive exhibits were not functioning during my visit and could benefit from better upkeep. Overall, I would highly recommend this destination to parents looking for an educational outing with their children. It is also a worthwhile stop for anyone in the area who has an interest in science and space.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age children who have genuine curiosity about space and science and can appreciate working exhibits without expecting everything to function. Free entry makes it a low-risk outing. Combine with nearby Lake Gardens attractions to fill a half-day.

βWe visited during the school holidays. No wait and free entry (except for the space pod ride and show). Overall an educational experience, especially for children. However, some exhibits were closed when we were there. We liked the AI photo booth where you can download your photos for free via QR code.β

βEntrance is free, staffs and security guards are friendly and helpful. There are some shows and theatre with reasonable price. Parking is free but have to climb up a hill. Its a shame that a lot of the facilities there are not maintained well, a lot of exhibition are broken or under maintainence. A lot of potential but lack of funding.β
