Royal Malaysian Police Museum
📍 Tasik Perdana, Kuala Lumpur
A free, air-conditioned museum near Tasik Perdana covering Malaysian police history from the colonial era to the present, with an impressive weapons gallery and outdoor vehicle displays.
Such a nice place to visit! The museum is clean, quiet, and full of interesting things about the history of the police in Malaysia. I felt a bit nostalgic because my dad was also a policeman. I loved seeing the old uniforms, cars, and weapons. It’s free to enter and the staff were very friendly. Great place to stop by if you’re in the area!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged ten and up who have an interest in history, law enforcement, or Malaysian colonial heritage. The weapons gallery and outdoor vehicle displays are the standout draws for older kids. Younger children may find the content less engaging. Free entry makes it a low-commitment addition to a Tasik Perdana day.

“Very cool experience!! Loved the museum. So much to see which I didn't expect. It was a hot day so it was nice they had ac inside too. The friendly police officer greeted us when we came in which was a polite gesture. Definently check it out! The Hop On and Hop Off Bus actually drives past it.”

“Free entry and I had the whole place pretty much to myself — a hidden gem that most tourists seem to skip! Spent just under 2 hours exploring, though I was running on an empty stomach so I suspect the experience would be even better after a proper meal! 😄 The weapons collection and outdoor vehicles were the highlight for me — they have bikes, cars and even an armoured vehicle on display outside. Really interesting to see up close. Aircon was comfortable inside though it does get warm at the outdoor sections. The small theatre inside apparently shows videos but it wasn't working during my visit — would be a great addition if they can get it running consistently. Since entrance is free, there's really no reason not to visit if you're in the area. I'd recommend pairing it with the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia nearby for a great half day itinerary. Just make sure you eat first!”

“Very enjoyable visit filled with historic details of Malaya. The guns gallery is impressive. This museum is very well presented. Better than the National Museum!! Entrance is free and super quiet. I had the whole museum to myself on a Sunday morning.”
