1 / 3Rainbow Skywalk @The TOP Penang
π George Town, Penang
A high-altitude glass walkway at The TOP Penang offering 360-degree panoramic views of George Town and the Strait of Malacca. Included in The TOP observatory ticket. Evening visits deliver the best conditions.
Visiting the Rainbow Skywalk was one of the most exciting parts of my time at The TOP Penang. Standing on the glass walkway high above the city feels thrilling, especially when you look straight down and realize how high up you are. Itβs a mix of fear and fun, but once you take that first step, it turns into a really memorable experience. The views of George Town and the sea from up there are amazing, and itβs a perfect spot for photos, especially during sunset or early evening when the sky colors look beautiful. The area is well organized, and staff guide visitors properly to make sure everyone feels safe. Even if youβre scared of heights, itβs worth trying because it feels secure and well maintained. It can get busy, so you may need to wait a bit for your turn to take photos, but the experience is still worth it. Overall, Rainbow Skywalk is a must try if you enjoy unique viewpoints and want to challenge yourself while seeing Penang from a whole new perspective.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 8 and above who are comfortable with heights and open to a mild adrenaline experience. The glass walkway is short, so plan it as part of a broader The TOP visit rather than a standalone trip. Go after for cool air and the best photos.

βWalking on the Skywalk in Penang was an experience Iβll never forget. The glass floor beneath my feet made my heart race, but the view was absolutely worth it endless blue sky, the city stretching far below, and the sea shimmering in the distance. The higher I went, the more peaceful it felt a mix of adrenaline and awe. If you love a little adventure mixed with stunning scenery, the Skywalk is a must visit. A legendary view, especially at sunset where the sky turns gold, and the island looks like itβs glowing. π πβ

βIt is an outdoor glass walk. So, beware of the HEAT especially at 12pm! Besides the heat. Not much to do. Only skybridge and few spots for pic. Also thereβs restaurant here (THE TOP)β

Overview
Rainbow Skywalk sits atop The TOP Penang, putting visitors above the city on a transparent glass-floor bridge with unobstructed views of the sea, skyline, and hills. The thrill of the glass floor underfoot is immediate and memorable. Midday heat on the exposed outdoor structure is intense β the rooftop empties by noon. Evening light transforms the experience with city illuminations and cooler air. A restaurant is on-site at The TOP level.
