Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir
π Desa Pahlawan, Kuala Lumpur
Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir is a peaceful lakeside park with a 2.8km walking path, abundant catfish and turtle populations, a playground, toilets, and a surau. The path does not complete a full loop around the lake. Best visited at golden hour.
βββββ One of KLβs hidden gems for evening hangs and jogs! Came here for a sunset jog and was blown away β the breeze is so refreshing even on warm days, perfect for cooling down as you run around the lake. The waterβs teeming with bright pink fish swimming near the edges, which adds such a fun pop of color to the scenery π£ Saw a few people kayaking peacefully on the lake β looks like a great way to unwind too! After my run, I plopped down on the lush grass by the water to watch the sun go down over the city skyline. Super chill vibe, with families picnicking and friends chatting quietly. Best time to go: 5-7 PM for golden hour sunset, calm winds, and the pink fish are most active. Paths are well-paved for jogging/walking, and thereβs plenty of green space to relax after. No crowds even on weekends β such a lovely escape from busy KL! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful spot to move their body or just unwind. Will definitely be back!
π Family Action Verdict
A strong pick for families with school-age children who enjoy nature and wildlife spotting in a calm outdoor setting. The catfish and turtle populations engage children immediately. The narrow shared path means families with young children on bikes or scooters should exercise caution around cyclists.

βSmaller than parks like Titiwangsa or the Botanical Garden, but super chill. You can sit on the grass by the lake and feed the fish. Nice running track too. Cyclists share the path and it can get a bit crowded since itβs narrow. Still very relaxed vibes... really chill spot.β

Overview
The park's 2.8km path runs alongside a green lake teeming with catfish, turtles, red-eared sliders, water monitors, squirrels, and birds. Walkers and cyclists share a narrow path that fits roughly three people across. The playground, toilets, and surau are on-site. The trail does not complete a full circumnavigation β large private properties block the far end. Golden hour draws the largest catfish and bird activity.
