1 / 3Geology Museum
π Ipoh, Perak
A free, air-conditioned museum in Ipoh with extensive mineral specimens, fossil displays, geological surveying instruments, and information on Malaysia's key geological sites. Remove shoes at entry.
Well kept, clean environment, real friendly staffs working the museum, and a chill atmosphere. Walk around slowly and learn about the short history of our earth, rocks & cystals, its uses and importance, plus the many places of geological interests in Malaysia. Overall lovely experience. Staffs were easy to talk to, happy to show the rare collection of precious and semi-precious stones on sale and offered stories on how their own customers bought some of them. If you're around the area, and don't mind a quiet time learning something extra, do drop by this museum and give it a go.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age children with curiosity about earth science, rocks, and fossils. The mineral specimens are visually striking enough to hold younger kids' attention, and the information boards give older children and adults real substance. Free entry and free parking make it a zero-risk addition to any Ipoh itinerary.

βAn outstanding geology museum, with informative displays, suitable for all ages. An extensive range of minerals, including their chemical composition. The uses of minerals in everyday life and geological measuring equipment displays were very interesting. This museum would be a great location for a school science field trip. It's airconditioned and you need to leave your shoes by the door. Toilets are located near the guardhouse.β
