Glass Museum Penang
📍 George Town, Penang
Creative venue in George Town where families paint their own glass bottle as part of admission. The painting activity is hands-on and produces a keepsake to take home. Group capacity is sparse to 20 people.
Ticket price: RM30 per person + 1 reusable bottle hands-on artwork (Included together with the ticket price) First time came here and had a little bit of shock because at here, you can do hands-on artwork on a reusable glass. It is included with the ticket price which is very affordable! No reservations needed if you decided to come with your family or with your partner. However, for any teachers who wants to bring your students to come here and do some hands-on artwork and learning, you need to do reservations first. The space is quite limited and can fit around 20ish people in there. I went there on a Saturday morning at 10:40AM and there wasn’t a lot of people there. There are a group of students came with their teachers around 12PM for hands-on artwork and learning purposes. Afternoon is more crowded as more school students came to this place. So, I would recommend y’all to come in the morning. After the hands-on artwork, y’all can start to explore the place and take pictures. I would say this is one of the unique museum that I went to in Penang. Parking situation is not that great since in front of the shop is the main road. They do accept QR and cash for payment method.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 5 and up who enjoy creative activities. The painting session produces a genuine keepsake and requires enough concentration to feel rewarding rather than trivial. Morning visits on weekdays or Saturdays avoid the afternoon school-group rush. Adults who enjoy craft will find it equally engaging.

“The beginning handcraft part is impressive and we are coming for this part exactly! The staff are so nice and considerate. It’s not an easy but really interesting part which relax us a lot. The outcome glass drawings look amazing too! Although the museum itself is not big and quick to finish but I’ll rate the handwork part and museum staff as 5 stars! P.S. Good place to take beautiful pictures too with funny or scary effects.”

“A great place to visit, particularly if you want to do something indoors. Can paint your own glass bottle-shaped wall plaque and some fun photo opportunities upstairs (both included in the admission price: 30 MYR) Great for kids!”

“Very fun place for photography, art and especially family bonding. Very suitable for parents and kids to have a fun and nourishing activity together. For RM30 it is definitely worth it. There are various artsy items available for purchase too and services. Overall their artwork is spectacular. Definitely a recommemded attraction.”

Overview
Glass Museum Penang's core draw is the included glass bottle painting session — staff guide visitors through the process and the finished piece goes home with you. The upstairs gallery adds photo opportunities for social-media-inclined visitors. Paintbrushes and tables show wear. No reservations needed for walk-in families. Payment by QR code or cash. Parking on the main road is tight — allow extra time.
