Gunung Lang Recreational Park
π Ipoh, Perak
Scenic park built on a former tin-mining pool surrounded by dramatic limestone formations. A short ferry ride crosses to walking tracks, a playground, and a boat ride area. Wild monkeys are present throughout.
Honestly, the view here is super nice! The limestone cave structures are just amazing to look at. Itβs a great spot for a stroll because the walking track is quite long and relaxing. Thereβs a playground if you have kids, too. Just watch out for the monkeysβthey are everywhere! ππΏ
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children who can appreciate dramatic limestone scenery and a calm waterside walk. The short ferry crossing excites younger kids, and the fish-feeding jetty is a free bonus. Do not bring food into the park β monkey encounters escalate quickly when food is visible.

βThis place looks beautiful. The view feels wide. The air feels fresh. The path feels safe. The ticket price feels cheap. You can take many photos. You can walk slow. You will enjoy your time.β

βGunung Lang offers a peaceful escape with beautiful natural scenery, especially the limestone hills and lake views. The boat ride is a nice touch and adds to the relaxing atmosphere. However, the park does feel a bit old and could use some refreshing. When we visited, the staff mentioned that some attractions are still under upgrading, so hopefully there will be improvements soon. Overall, itβs a decent spot for a short visit or a quiet walk, especially if you enjoy nature. Just donβt expect too many activities at the moment.β

βAt rm3 and rm1.5 per entry for adults and seniors 55 years old and above, respectively - this small little park, built from a used-tin mining pool offers a 3 minutes, two way ferry ride of about 20 passengers that brings visitors from a small jetty crossing over the pool to an area with just a handful of mini attractions such as the Perak House, Adabi House, a single porcupine enclosed within a cage as its companion had died of old age while all other animals have been relocated to the petting zoo within walking distance which has its own entrance fees. The small area is infested with over 300 monkeys and walking around takes about 40 minutes with nothing much to see really. No food is sold within here as the monkeys can get pretty hostile. You can opt for a 5 mins tram ride for rm7 to skip all the walk. The best attraction to me was feeding the huge Toman fishes and turtle at the jetty before entrance point where you can buy bread for the fish without paying the entrance fees and the ferry ride.β

Overview
Gunung Lang Recreational Park centres on a calm lake enclosed by towering limestone hills. A two-way ferry ride crosses the pool to an area with walking tracks, limestone cave structures, and a playground. The park is compact β most visitors complete the circuit in under 45 minutes. Aggressive wild monkeys target anyone carrying food, so leave snacks in the car. A separate fish-feeding jetty area is accessible without entry tickets.
