Went here on weekend to visit histocal venue and learning something about our statesman. There are not many visitors during my visit. The place is huge and it has 3-4 levels of exhibition hall. It also will leads to a residential house where people can exit through there and continue the visit to Memorial Tun Hussein on and Memorial Pahlawan. The place is also cold, comfortable and informative where you can find a lot of sources about Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Please guys pays a visit to this place during your freetime because it's literally empty. Bring your friends and family too since it can be a recreational visit too. Maybe you can gain something like knowledge and idea about our leaders and how was the era. Entrance is free and you just need to register your name and few details. Totally recommended

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with school-age children studying Malaysian history or interested in the country's independence story. The multi-floor layout rewards unhurried exploration. Free entry removes the cost barrier entirely. Children who need air conditioning throughout the visit may find comfort inconsistent — morning visits tend to be cooler.

A lot to read and digest in the 3 floor memorial gallery 😅 But it was a very2 nice visit and we had so much fun there especially when rounding the house. The staffs are very very friendly, informative and ready to help. We almost missed one important hall as we missed the staircase to get there. When we were leaving, one of the staffs asked if we visited the hall and upon knowing we did not, he brought us through a shortcut to get there. Entry is free and there is plenty of parking. In the same area there is Memorial Negarawan and the Tun Hussein Onn memorial as well, but we didnt manage to visit as we are rushing to another place. Oh ya, dont forget to visit Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery just opposite of this place 😊

Entry is free! A fascinating spot for history enthusiasts, offering three floors of exhibits that provide an intimate glimpse into Tunku Abdul Rahman’s life and legacy. The displays showcase his personal belongings, photographs, and milestones that shaped Malaysia’s early years. An interesting observation on “The Symbols of Nationhood” it highlighted how unity among all races was essential in convincing foreign powers that we were capable of governing ourselves. That spirit of solidarity ultimately paved the way for our independence. Reflecting on this, it’s hard not to wonder: with the racial divisions and internal conflicts we see today, would we still have been able to achieve independence if the same conditions existed back then? However, some parts of the building show signs of aging and could benefit from better upkeep. With a bit more attention to maintenance and perhaps the addition of interactive or digital elements to keep up with time (audio visual). Unlike Tun M’s official residence, this home was purposefully built near the country’s center of power, close to institutions such as Bank Negara, symbolizing his connection to the nation’s leadership and decision-making hub. Entry to Tunku's living quarters are closed between 1-2pm.

I don't remember if I've been here when I was a kid. Today I came here with an adventurous mood to see our father of the nation. I can only describe this place as "disappointing". There is no air conditioning, some lights are broken, making it very gloomy (very suitable for shooting ghost movies), and 95% of the equipment is almost broken. It's a pity! I don't know if our father of the nation would cry when he sees it. I really hope the government will renovate it. The National Bank Museum and Memorial Tun Hussein Onn next door are much better than this place.
