A genuinely unique outing where families can explore the interior of a real submarine. Best for curious kids aged 6 and up who enjoy hands-on history and military heritage.
Visited Malacca Submarine Museum (also known as Muzium Kapal Selam Melaka) and it was a very unique and interesting experience. Seeing a real submarine up close is already impressive, but stepping inside and walking through the narrow corridors makes it even more exciting. Inside, you can explore different sections of the submarine and learn how life was for the crew. The space is quite tight, so it really gives you a feel of how challenging it must have been for people working inside for long periods. The displays and explanations are informative and easy to understand, making the visit both fun and educational. Outside the submarine, the area is open and suitable for taking photos. Itβs also located near other attractions in Klebang, so itβs convenient to include in a day trip. Overall, itβs a great place for families, students, and anyone curious about military history or unique attractions. Definitely worth a visit if youβre in Melaka.

βNice place to visit if you are technical person and with kids. There are many to see while most things remain difficult to understand, it's a submarine so what do you expect? The normal people won't have chance to visit as if they not working in this line. A lot of displays for metering, junction boxes, wiring's here and there. The submarines have few portions like bedding room, machine room, kitchen, meeting room. Entrance ticket is RM10/adults, kids below 6 is free. There are 2 fire jets that you can take pictures with. The submarine is about 3 stories high access with stairs. It's really huge see from the outside but inside looks small. Very hot outside without shade, inside is cool with air-conditioned.β

βA very short visit as there are a submarine and two fighter jets. The submarine looks very huge from the outside but itβs narrow inside. You can enter inside it to look around but donβt go during the weekend because itβs very crowded. The ticket costs RM10 per adult and cashless. The parking is limited especially during the weekend. The outdoor is very hot and no shade so make sure to wear a hat or a cap or bring an umbrella.β

βVisited the Malacca Submarine Museum during a trip to Melaka. The main attraction is the retired French-built Agosta 70 submarine, and seeing a real submarine up close was definitely a unique experience. The submarine itself is huge and quite impressive, especially when viewed from the outside. There are also information panels explaining its history, technical specifications, and its service with the Royal Malaysian Navy, which adds some educational value to the visit. The grounds are spacious and suitable for taking photos, and the submarine makes for an eye-catching landmark. It was interesting to imagine how dozens of crew members lived and worked in such a confined space while operating underwater. However, the museum felt a bit dated and could use better maintenance. Some displays appear worn, and there are limited interactive exhibits to keep visitors engaged. The visit can be completed fairly quickly, and there isn't much additional information or activities beyond exploring the submarine and reading the display boards. During hot afternoons, the outdoor areas can also become quite uncomfortable due to the lack of shade. Overall, it's a decent place to visit once, especially for families, students, or anyone interested in military and maritime history. While the submarine itself is worth seeing, improvements to the exhibits and visitor experience would make the museum much more memorable. π’βπΈβ
