π City Centre, Kuala Lumpur
Multi-floor contemporary art gallery in Chinatown focused on Malaysian social protest history and civil society movements. Staff provide a briefing and guided walkthrough on arrival. Rooftop area on the top floor.
Interesting documentation of Malaysian history that would never make it to history books otherwise. Understanding or living through the social protest of the 90s would help enjoy these exhibits more profoundly, but nonetheless a thought-provoking place to spark curiosity and begin learning.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with teenagers or young adults who can engage with Malaysian social history and political art. Children under 12 are unlikely to connect with the exhibit themes. The multilevel layout and staff walkthrough make the content accessible for curious older students.

βWe went to the gallery as a group from art college. The Gallery PIC Hannah and Atiqah is very accommodating and explain in detail during the tour guide. Will definitely come here again βΊοΈβ

βSpent a lovely day here rediscovering my interest in the arts! This beautiful gallery is right in the middle of chinatown. I got my ticket at the entrance and after a short briefing by the person manning the counter, I went upstairs to enjoy the exhibits. There are pictures, photos, sculptures and objects being shown here. The exhibit is spread out to multiple floors in this building. I went through each of them, one floor at a time. On the top floor, there is a rooftop cafe with a garden where guests can get a refreshing brew with a view of the downtown skyline. This is definitely one of the highlights in chinatown and I was informed there are similar galleries spread throughout the city. I cannot wait to check them out as well.β
